Torah Ministries | Are You Dead Yet? – Follow Yeshua

So many people out there are claiming TRUTH, but are they TRULY walking in it? It is important to remember that when we claim something, and don’t have the actions to back it up, our claims are actually FALSE.

ARE YOU DEAD YET?

We must constantly be taking an inventory of ourselves to see if there is ANYTHING in us from our past lives. Some will tell you that it is ok to keep some of your past with you, especially the “good stuff”, but what is actually good? Can a bad tree produce good fruit? Yeshua gives us a clear answer to that question in Matthew 7.

“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. “You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? “So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. “A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. “So then, you will know them by their fruits. (Matthew 7:15-20)

So how do we know if a tree is good or bad, or should I say, how do we know if we had good in us before “crossing over”? By the fruit! What is good fruit? Well lets look a little close at Yeshua’s words…

“Beware of false prophets…”

What is a false prophet? We must go to the foundation of the Scriptures to find the answer to this question.

“If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes true, concerning which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other mighty ones (whom you have not known) and let us serve them, ’you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for Yehovah you Elohim is testing you to find out if you love Yehovah you Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul. “You shall follow Yehovah you Elohim and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him. “But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has counseled rebellion against Yehovah you Elohim who brought you from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, to seduce you from the way in which Yehovah you Elohim commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from among you. (Deuteronomy 13:1-5)

So again, what is a false prophet? Anyone who speaks, and or teaches that you don’t have to obey ALL of the instructions in Torah. So, was there anything good in your past life? Well, were you obeying all of Torah? If the answer to the latter question is “no”, then there was nothing good there… The vast majority would say this is not true, but that is because they haven’t DIED to themselves, and are trying to carry the baggage of man-made religion with them everywhere they go. Sadly, they will not inherit the kingdom, for Yeshua clearly says that we are to DIE to ourselves. Remember, a dead man can take NOTHING with him. The good, the bad and the ugly, die with him, and he is laid to rest empty handed. We are then re-born by the very WORD in which we are to be following, if we allow that to take place. In this rebirth, we are a NEW CREATION! The OLD HAS GONE, and the NEW HAS COME! Then and ONLY THEN, are we reborn into truth, in which we have not brought ANYTHING with us from the past life. Another way to say it is this… If we bring something with us into this “new life”, we are not actually dying, nor are we reborn in truth, but only deceiving ourselves in thinking that we have arrived. This is the plague that haunts the MASSES in the Torah, Messianic, Hebrew Roots movement today. They have only partially come out of their past ways, which is actually not leaving at all… It is our desire to shout from the rooftops, this calling of COMPLETE abandonment, which is an echo of what the Messiah taught and lived. He was never concerned with His own will, but His Father’s will was of utmost importance. We must find ourselves in this same place if we want to inherit the Kingdom to come. After all, Yeshua called us to FOLLOW HIM!

May you find yourselves in a place of complete surrender to Yehovah’s will, and may you be willing to LOSE YOUR LIVES, in order to find them.

Shalom.
